Re-runs can be heart-warming
The last time I watched this movie, I must have been in 7th or 8th grade. Watching it again yesterday, brought back some wonderful memories. If you're a Classics person, get your hands on this one. You won't regret it.
Song: Edelweiss
Movie: Sound of Music
Year: 1965
Edelweiss, Edelweiss
Every morning you greet me
Small and white, clean and bright
You look happy to meet me
Blossom of snow may you bloom and grow
Bloom and grow forever
Edelweiss, Edelweiss
Bless my homeland forever

For all 'Book-Lovers'
And yet (I wish I could emphasize more on that 'yet'), when it comes to books, there's a whole lot of us longing to flip through pages rather than use the scroll-bar; those of us who love the smell of paper, who'd drive that extra mile to visit a bookstore!
It's such people 'Librarywala' will always find a true customer in. Kudos to you guys! And thanks Pooja, you're an angel!

A 'Sudi-story'...
Sudi Art 1
Sudi calls this one - EyeSpy
...and today he's revealed another talent - 'Story-Telling'Update (1st February, 2008): So it's not a 'Sudi-story' :(. And that doesn't make you any less talented :)...
Here's one of his latest
A long time ago, before the world was created and humans set foot on it, God had put all human 'qualities' in a separate room.Where he
All qualities were bored and they decided to play 'Hide-n-Seek'. 'Madness' was one of the qualities and he shouted, "I want to seek, I want to seek!". Since nobody wanted to seek 'Madness', the other qualities agreed.
So 'Madness' leaned against a tree and started counting, "One, two, three..."
As 'Madness' counted, the qualities went hiding. 'Treason' hid in a pile of garbage, 'Lie' announced he'd hide under a stone, but hid at the bottom of a lake instead. 'Madness' continued counting, "... seventy nine, eighty, eighty one..."
By this time, almost all qualities were hidden - except 'Love'. For stupid as 'Love' is, he couldn't decide where to hide. (And this shouldn't surprise us, because we all know how difficult it is to hide 'Love')
'Madness', "...ninety five, ninety six, ninety seven...". Just when 'Madness' got to one hundred, 'Love' jumped into a rose bush.
'Madness' turned around and shouted, "I'm coming, I'm coming!". 'Laziness' was the first to be found; he was too lazy to hide. 'Madness' searched madly and found 'Lie' at the bottom of the lake. One by one, 'Madness' found them all - except 'Love'. 'Madness' was getting desperate, unable to find 'Love'.
Envious of Love, 'Envy' whispered to 'Madness', "You only need to find 'Love' and he's hiding in the rose bush". 'Madness' jumped into the rose bush and heard a loud cry. The thorns in the bush had pierced 'Love's' eyes.
Hearing the commotion God came in and saw what had happened. He got very angry and cursed 'Madness'. He said, "Since 'Love' has become blind because of you, you shall always be with him".
And so it came to be from that day on - 'Love is blind and is always accompanied by Madness'.

Please spread the word
Apparently, the Govt. itself authorizes this!!
Maybe it's time we re-define the word 'humane', if this is what we've come to.
How do those people sleep during the night?!

Air Sickness
So we got out of the flight and walked upto the ground control personnel to guide us to the cancellation counter. Apparently, there was none! So we had to wait in the line meant for booking tickets on the next flights. Another 2 hours, some frustrated passengers, drained personnel & broken glass later, we managed to cancel our ticket for the day, collected new tickets for the following day (Kingfisher this time) & drove back home.
The next morning, back at the airport, we met half a dozen people from our previous evening's flight. They were taking the same Kingfisher flight to Pune. Again, on arrival, the
A night's stay at Pune and we're back at the airport. This time it was worse. The
Again, flight delayed by 15 minutes (shortest so far). A day at Bombay and we're back at the airport by nightfall. I guess God really didn't want us to sit at another airport counting books on a shelf in a bookstore or wondering what the person sitting across us was thinking at that moment, so our plane was on time! And surprisingly landed before scheduled time!
Back home, mom's vowed not to visit the airport for a LONG, long time.
I don't have to tell you what was bad about those trips. But what was good was that I managed to complete Khalid Hosseini's 'The Kite Runner'. Good book.

"Where did I go wrong..."
Artist: The Fray
Album: How To Save A Life
Year: 2005
Step one you say we need to talk
He walks you say sit down it's just a talk
He smiles politely back at you
You stare politely right on through
Some sort of window to your right
As he goes left and you stay right
Between the lines of fear and blame
You begin to wonder why you came
Where did I go wrong, I lost a friend
Somewhere along in the bitterness
And I would have stayed up with you all night
Had I known how to save a life
Let him know that you know best
Cause after all you do know best
Try to slip past his defense
Without granting innocence
Lay down a list of what is wrong
The things you've told him all along
And pray to God he hears you
And pray to God he hears you
Where did I go wrong, I lost a friend
Somewhere along in the bitterness
And I would have stayed up with you all night
Had I known how to save a life
As he begins to raise his voice
You lower yours and grant him one last choice
Drive until you lose the road
Or break with the ones you've followed
He will do one of two things
He will admit to everything
Or he'll say he's just not the same
And you'll begin to wonder why you came
Where did I go wrong, I lost a friend
Somewhere along in the bitterness
And I would have stayed up with you all night
Had I known how to save a life
