I've been reading a lot on the Law of Attraction and it's various sub-laws, over the last few months. In order to get myself in-sync, I've even tried meditating. But I guess you really need to learn the basics from someone who's well-versed in the subject. I've been meaning to approach someone for the same. As the law might have it (Heh!), I found myself at the Art of Living, International Center, Bangalore.
Spent the weekend attending one of their courses. Liked what they had to offer and absolutely enjoyed the tranquility of the place. I think I'm going to find myself visiting this place more often.
Ofcourse, there is the occasional irritation of having to see people flock in dozens to touch Mr. Ravi Shankar's feet or seek his blessings (arrgh..), but that's for a fraction of a second. Look around and understand what he's trying to communicate, and none of that irritation persists :)!

great! how many days is the course for? must be a nice experience!
i had tried taking an art of living course in pilani but that required getting up at 4 am which i couldnt follow for more than a day :(
but now i need to learn how to meditate...i mite be suffering from attention deficit disorder...finding trouble concentrating these days...!
:D
A beautiful experience. I basically went there to get some tips on meditation and ended up making a bunch of new friends, jiving to some good music at the satsangs & getting a slightly more meaningful understanding to Ravi Shankar's purpose :)!
The course lasts over 3 days. We reported on Thursday evening and were back by Sunday night. I'd recommend it.
My wife did this Art of living thingy last week ; Poor thing needed it badly to survive being married to me :-)
and i am all set to do the begineer course next month !
See you around then ! he he !
I sure hope it worth losing sleep for 4 days.
Actually you end up sleeping better :D! Atleast I did & do...

My morning starts if the door bell rings in the morning... (sometimes it is as early as noon ;) )
I attended the Art of Living course a few weeks back and only thing i found was that I lost a weeks of good sleep :) (Read my blog for details)
Hmm... I guess when you do it as task, it is always hard :)! I don't loose my sleep over it... when I think I'm in the mood... I try the aasanaas and kriyas. I have no intention of making then a chore :).
I have stopped touching elders and any other human feets :) since past 10yrs or more.. i cant stand it....but i just touch my parents feet but thats very occasional GURUpournima and soem few days i consider them
I agree wit you on that sayin that we have to see the larger purpose of Shrishri... n bypass the feettouchers :)
